Design agent’s working day

Published: 04/10/2016

As the profession of a design agent is pretty new and unknown, let us tell you how a regular day at the office could be like.

Today the first thing to do at the office was to brew a big cup of nice tea, followed by a conference call regarding the operational strategies of Patterns from Finland. As an informative part of the call was a potential upcoming bigger project with a Japanese partner, in which trademarks and licensing playes a big role, and which would have an effect on independent designers in Finland too. The financing decision for this project should be confirmed by November, so let’s see.

For any of the projects, the need of partners and external financing is always considered. As a sample of that, a partnership of us, Acer and Bulevardin Kahvisalonki benefitted us all during the past Lux Helsinki. Today, one of our customers was contacted for exhibition visibility purposes. In the same email we did the check up for a current, so far unpublished project.

Another unpublished project is an exciting one! Our designers worked hard to show their best at the offer phase some weeks ago, and now we are waiting for the results. This project raised an internal discussion about the needs of re-evaluating our working methods, so some development plans are in mind. One of today’s follow-up emails was about this project.

Some weeks back, when updating our current online collection, we noticed some technical issues related with the visibility of our patterns. Have you noticed anything strange going on in our collection page? Did you try rating and reviewing any of the patterns already? We would like to hear from you if you face any kind of troubles with our site, now or in the future.

We contact our upcoming customers by phone or emails, if not meeting them personally at fairs first. Our collection, and the portfolio of our designers, show the styles we are able to deliver. That is why a well-functioning website is more than essential for us.

Last but not least, we spent some time blogging. We find it important that you know what we do and how we do it.

That’s about it for today. Two consecutive days are very seldom alike, so new challenges are waiting tomorrow! Meanwhile an agent does all this, our ten designers are able to concentrate on designing the most suitable patterns for the needs of our customers, and reveal some behind the scenes -stories on our Instagram -account.
