Helsinki Design Week 2021: Superweek of textile and surface design

Patternsfrom Agency organizes four online events with a focus on textile and surface design during Helsinki Design Week 2021 as its satellite events.

Portfolio review for designers Sept. 10th 2021 *Free*

Our annual portfolio review, which is organized again during Helsinki Design Week, is open for all pattern designers. It gives us an overview of the talent that is out there, and it has been the way to get into our roster for several years already. The event is aimed at designers who are looking for an agent to support them with e.g. marketing and sales efforts, or who wish to have feedback on their patterns/portfolio. Hottest designers of Scandinavian style Sept. 14th 2021 *Free*

There will be several curated, Finland-based design studios and individual designers pitching their services and latest collections to an audience consisting of brand representatives, manufacturers, and design buyers from around the world. During the event, you will meet both fresh talents and experienced pattern design professionals, with whom you are free to tie a business relation later on. We have asked a number of internationally recognized designers, studios, agencies, and brands to tell about their work and to share their insights into the world of textile design. Besides learning how designers around the world organize themselves for work, you will hear about different pricing and agreement methods too. This event is meant to be a peer-to-peer event, especially suitable for junior designers and people willing to sell their artwork. Sustainable sourcing of textiles in India Sept. 17th 2021 *Tickets 36 euros*

Is ethical sourcing of textiles possible in India, and how to work with Indian subcontractors? This workshop is perfect for companies aiming to expand their sourcing activities to India. We are part of the Helsinki Design Week program. Founded in 2005, Helsinki Design Week is the largest design festival in the Nordic countries. Held annually in September, the multidisciplinary festival showcases various aspects of design, including fashion, architecture, and urban culture. The festival is held 9–19 September 2021.
