Tanja Kallio

Tanja Kallio is a freelance designer working in the field of pattern & surfaces, textile design and visual & graphical identities. She is a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design and textile design.

The inspiration for Tanja’s work comes from the ambiances of surrounding life. Her visual eye catches compelling colors, rhythms, textures and forms non-stop. She likes to experiment with the design process by matching, mixing and making changes to give that final touch. Tanja uses handmade sketches and paintings together with digital techniques. Her patterns are often stories related to the nature or drawn in abstract graphic style.

In her time off, Tanja enjoys nature and its seasons, but also spends time in cities with their culture, art museums, street art and teashops. Inspiration comes strongly from the Northern Scandinavia and the nature of Lapland, as well as from graphic art & design and historical layers.

Tanja believes that the quality of design makes products more sustainable, both for the environment and for the changing styles and fashions. She wants to make good design for the right purpose and pass stories that start to live their own life on hard and soft materials.
