At Granny’s – Kuivakukka
The “At Granny’s” pattern family is a tribute to the cherished memories of childhood days spent at Granny’s house. Each design is crafted for interior textiles, emphasizing bedding that brings comfort and nostalgia into the home. All of the patterns can easily be scaled to smaller sizes as well.
My grandmother had a garden where she grew a variety of flowers. After harvesting them, she would carefully dry the blooms, hanging them on the wall. Initially, when I began with the “Kuivakukka” pattern, I sketched the flowers hanging down, capturing their form as they dried. However, as I worked on the design, I felt inspired to turn them upside down. This shift not only created a dynamic sense of movement but also symbolized the idea of growth and transformation.
