Forssa Textile Week 2024
Published: 08/08/2025
City of Forssa was built around textile industry back in the days, and the Museum of Forssa carries on this heritage.
Forssa Textile Week, an annual event produced by Museum of Forssa, gathers together textile enthusiasts of all kinds. It promotes the position of textile and pattern design as well as sustainable textiles by creating a topical arena for textiles. In the 2024 event, Jenni Moberg of Patternsfrom Agency was the moderator for two interesting sessions at the opening day.
In the first session, Karin Olu Lindgård explained about her work as a design consultant for a textile company in Bangladesh, Noora Niinikoski told about Nanso and prints, Elina Lappalainen and Osmi Koskinen told about the changing role of a designer at Finlayson, and Sachiko Imaizumi explained the value of designs and potential of licensing. The event was concluded with a panel discussion.
In the second session, Petri Juslin of Seriöösi told about his observations between design and production, Josabet Werkmäster from Textiltryck Malmö about collaborative textile spaces in Sweden and Nanna Aspholm-Flik about how textiles can connect people. Also this event was concluded with a panel discussion.
The recordings are available on Youtube, the first one here, and the second one here.
Forssa Textile Week is coming up again in August, so hopefully you will have the chance to see the discussion events live this, or an upcoming year!
