Visiting lecturer for design students
Published: 12/11/2024
In August, we ran a LinkedIn campaign where we discussed topics relevant to us and our business. Soon after the campaign started, we were invited to Savonia University of Applied Sciences as visiting lecturers for design students.
During the 1.5-hour lecture, we discussed what the work of a freelance pattern designer looks like today, including what kind of companies there are in the field and how they are organized (in Finland and internationally), what abilities a freelance designer should have (spoiler: just great artistic skills are not enough), and what to consider when commercializing a pattern (agreement types, pricing, etc.).
We had an online audience of about 50 design students and their teachers. During the lecture, the students also had the chance to reflect on and discuss what they had just heard in the break-out rooms in smaller groups.

One of our agents or both as a visiting lecturer for design students is one of the most popular services we provide for designers. The lecture may be organized online or offline or the event can be adjusted towards a more workshop-like hands-on session. Get in touch for more information!
