Fun autumn mood patterns for kids and young minded by Hanna Ruusulampi

Published: 17/08/2022

The pattern family ‘Lento’ designed by Hanna Ruusulampi is inspired by autumn moods. Rowan berries and leaves in particular served as inspiration for the elements of these patterns for kids. The pattern family has its inspiration from the autumn color palette picked from rowan berries and trees and added with joyful purple.

The idea of the ‘Pihlaja’ (Engl. rowan) pattern – on the left corner of the picture – Hanna found directly in the leaves of the rowan tree. The leaves that fall from the rowan tree in her backyard formed beautiful surfaces on the ground.

The main pattern of the pattern family is called ‘Liitäjä’ (Engl. glider). It is a cute and fun pattern designed especially for children. The flying squirrel has been pacified and lives in the forest in Southern Finland. This little squirrel’s diet also includes rowan berries. The cute flying squirrel is a nocturnal animal, which is why it is suitable for children’s bedding. Check this video to see the challenges of a mother flying squirrel to get her baby to sleep.

The modern and abstract ‘Puuska’ (Engl. gust) pattern is inspired by leaves and branches blown by the wind. It is suitable for many products from small home textile products to clothing.

This pattern family is especially suitable for bedding, bedroom wallcoverings, or toiletry items such as make-up pouches and disposables. Would you like to use these patterns for kids and young minded in your products? Get in touch with us, and let’s discuss the terms and prices!
